Day Hike - Granite Mountain Trail
My favorite close-in hike. Late posting for Wednesday, maybe last of the cool days this week. Please be in fit shape for this strenuous hike at a sustained pace.

Please have done a similar hike -- 3000'+ gain, of at least a similar speed, in the last 8 weeks, or equivalent. If that similar hike is not apparent from your Mtneers profile, please email leader when you sign up with specifics of what you have done, e.g. name, date, altitude gain, distance, and approx. time or pace.
Please look at recent WTA reports https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/granite-mountain.

Depending on the view, please have clothing and snacks to spend possibly 30 minutes at the summit taking in the views. If that doesn't appeal, this may not be the hike for you.
Due to steepness, poles recommended.
One (and only 1) leashed dog OK, if all those who have already signed up ahead of you are OK with a dog coming, IF you know Doggy can do this trip, and if you keep Doggy leashed whole time and bag and carry poop. (NO leaving poop bag on trail to pick up on return!)
If you prefer a dog-free hike, let me know that when you sign up and I'll delete this paragraph.
Due to the strenuous nature of this hike and late posting, Mountaineer members only, unless you are a guest of one of the participants on this hike.
If someone signs up to be assistant leader, I'll boost roster count to 8. Otherwise will keep at 5.
For those who wish to carpool, Preston P & R just east of Issaquah, ready to go, at 7:30. Otherwise, ready to go at the Granite Mountain trail head at 8:10.
