Day Hike - Discovery Park

This is a two loop hike in the largest Park in Seattle . It is a scenic and historic hike including views of Puget Sound ,Olympics and Historic areas.Our tour will include the Beach and Lighthouse .

We will meet at the Visitors Center at 9:00 am . There will be a carpool site at Greenlake Park and Ride , 65th under the Freeway. I will be there at 8:15 am to take up to four hikers , and departing for the trailhead at 8:30 am . I drive a white Escape . Take the Mercer Exit from the Freeway I-5 , drive Mercer Street 1.6 miles west , bear right and continue North on Elliot Ave. West for .6 mile , which becomes 15th Ave. West , follow this road for 1.4 miles ,then take the Emerson and Nickerson St. Exit , bear right on West Nickerson St. ,crossing over 15th Ave. West , turn left on West Emerson Street  ,follow this street for .5 miles ,turn right  onto Gilman Ave. Ave. West ,drive one mile on this street becoming West Government Way in .5 mile to Discovery Park entrance , and .1 mile on Discovery Park Blvd ,turning left into the parking lot.
