This is a mentored hike for Lei Wu. The mentor is Rob Erickson, also the co-leader of this hike. Please expect the group to stay together. We will take moderate breaks along the way as needed for adjusting clothing, appreciating natural beauty, and such. The main break will be at Million Dollar Viewpoint near Harvey Manning TH.
Friday is looking to be a typical wet Pacific Northwest day. The trail will be muddy and slippery at places. Bring your rain gear, e.g., rain jacket/pants, waterproof boots, pack cover, and etc. Hiking poles may be helpful.
Bring the Ten Essentials with you.
Please give a copy of this email to your emergency contact with instructions not to worry if we are delayed, and to call the Mountaineers emergency number (206-521-6030), if they have not heard from you by 10:00 am the following day.

From I-90, west of Issaquah, take Exit 13 to Lakemont Blvd SE and head south for about 3 miles. Be alert for a blue and white sign on the left proclaiming "Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park - Red Town Trailhead," and turn into the large parking lot. There is room for about 35 cars.
