This is one tough trip! You should be prepared for some suffering, due to the length and considerable elevation going up into the Rendezvous, together with a tough descent into Mazama. But the rewards are great, with amazing views from some of the huts that may be part of our itinerary depending on party interest. The leader will be in Winthrop from Wednesday 28th, and I will be reachable via email/phone in the days prior to the trip.
Metal edged nordic skis will be required for this trip since conditions in the Rendezvous are often icy and grooming unpredictable.
Please be prepared for all eventualities on this trip, since we will be hours from any roads. Do also let me know of similar trips you've done in the past.
We will meet around 0800 at the Cub Creek TH. We will strive to arrive at the Mazama country Inn before dark! A car shuttle back to Winthrop will be organized prior to departure.
