Bikepack - Olympic Discovery Trail: Olympic Adventure Route

Let's do the OAT and come back on the ODT! This will be a 2-day bikepacking loop. Please read leader's notes. COVID-19 vaccination required.

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 56.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,350 ft
  • Pace: 7 mph

Olympic Adventure Trail West Trailhead. Time to be determined. Details will be sent to participants a few days ahead.

We will ride the Olympic Adventure Trail westward (on singletrack) and Olympic Discovery trail (mostly paved road) back the next day making this a loop. On day 1 we will also ride the Spruce Railroad Trail (paved trail) to the end Lake Crescent and possibly back to our chosen campsite. Due to early closures of developed campgrounds, we will likely dispersed camp in the Olympic National Forest so expect no facilities and prepare for standard Mountaineers LNT camping.

Total mileage day 1: at least 33  miles and 2400 ft gain (24 singletrack, 9 paved)

Total mileage day 2: 20 mile mostly flat

In case of very inclement weather (hard rain all week-end) we will postponed to the following week-end. A few showers or low chance of rain will be a go.

Be prepared for a cold night and late fall conditions.
