  • Easy/Moderate
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 4.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 350 ft
  • Pace: Slow

Be totally ready to ride at 9:45am at the Duthie Hill Parking lot off Issaquah-Fall City Road, Google Maps link here.

Driving directions are as follows: From I-90 in Issaquah, take Exit 18 off of I-90, East Sunset Way, veer left on Highlands Drive and follow it for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto Issaquah-Fall City Road. In 2 miles, at Endeavor Elementary School, turn right onto Issaquah-Fall City Road. Turn left into the parking lot.

No parking pass required.

Duthie Hill is a super fun bike park for riders of ALL abilities.  You will see some amazing riders there, but our focus will be on the basics and hopefully building upon your riding confidence.

This will be more of a skills clinic than a ride and will be a slow go. We will be making lots of stops to discuss and practice techniques for riding including: bike/body positioning, foot work, braking, and choosing lines through obstacles.   The trails at Duthie are fairly smooth (and have shorter hills), so feel free to bring your choice of a gravel bike or mountain bike; however, a mountain bike is a lot more fun and "could be" geared better for riding the uphill portions. Platform pedals on your bike are preferred but not required.

DO NOT BRING TRAINING WEIGHT OR OVERNIGHT GEAR!

The weather will be cool, but once we get moving up a hill, you will warm up, so dress in appropriate layers.  You will probably want long pants and long fingered gloves. We will end our ride at 12noon.

This ride is for Bikepacking Graduates, Students, and Equivalency Candidates.

A group email will go out by Thursday afternoon.

The leader is a certified BICP/ICP Level 1 Bike Instructor.
