Climate Change Speaker Series: Climate Reality 2021

Climate Change Speaker Series: The Big Thaw
Mountaineers Books and Braided River author Eric Scigliano will take us to some of Earth’s northernmost wild places and share the role of thawing permafrost in the climate crisis. The author of The Big Thaw, a 2020 Washington State Book Award winner, will discuss how quickly the permafrost is thawing, what its impact will be, and how a new generation of scientists can imagine innovative solutions to global problems. This is the second event in our Climate Change Speaker Series.

Jason Vogel, Mountaineers member and Deputy Director of the UW Climate Impacts Group, will share insights about climate change impacts to the landscapes, ecosystems, and recreational resources we love in the Pacific Northwest.
