For over 100 years, The Mountaineers has enriched the outdoor community by helping thousands of people to explore, conserve, learn about, and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We take pride in that legacy, and we we want to honor our volunteer leaders who make it all happen!

The Mountaineers Leadership Conference is a one-day conference  at the Seattle Program Center in Magnuson Park. The program includes both esteemed outdoor professionals and seasoned leaders from our own community at The Mountaineers. A series of interactive sessions will explore the many facets of leadership – from honing our decision-making skills, to pedagogy and better teaching, to the "soft-skills" of facilitating positive group dynamics.

We're excited to announce several changes to this year's line-up.

  • Exhibit Hall - During lunch, we'll offer an exhibit hall where conference attendees can browse vendors and skills experts. We'll have a variety of volunteer experts ready to answer questions and share their knowledge. No advanced registration is required! Lunch will be a "build your own" boxed meal option to give you flexibility to move around, mingle, and learn from our exhibit hall presenters and vendors.
  • Mini-Summits - We'll close the day with an hour of rich conversation to synthesize everything you learned during the conference sessions. Facilitated discussion will be set-up by activity type. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to connect with like minded adventurers from all branches, and to share some key take-aways relevant to your activity.

Please check back often for more information about this year's schedule and presenters!
