Cross-country Ski - Methow Community Trail

We will meet at 9:00 at the Winthrop Town Trail Head and carpool to the Chickadee Trailhead at Sun Mountain

We will  start from the Chickadee trailhead and ski a variety of mostly green (easy) but also some blue (intermediate) trails including Beaver Pond, Lower Fox, Little Wolf and YellowJacket for an approximately 8 mile loop. 

This is a nordic advanced basic ski and requires the ability to ascend and descend intermediate hills.   A good standard of fitness and stamina is required. This trip is not suitable for first time Nordic skiers: even those with Alpine ski experience. Classic waxless skis preferred.  

This activity is part of Methow Valley Winter Trails month.  There are a variety of other cross-country ski and snowshoe trips over the weekend you can participate in as well as other activities.   The Methow Valley is roughly 250 miles and 4 - 5 hours from Seattle. Make a weekend of it and stay in Winthrop or elsewhere in the Methow Valley .
