SCOPE - WHAT DOES THIS BADGE ALLOW ME TO DO?

This badge recognizes a past scope of practice leading participants on sea kayaking trips, but does not indicate a current authority to lead Mountaineers sea kayaking trips.

HOW DO I GET THIS BADGE?

To receive the Sea Kayak Emeritus Badge, a volunteer must have previously earned the Sea Kayak Leader Badge. The Sea Kayak Leader Badge expires after three years of inactivity as a sea kayak leader, unless otherwise determined by the branch sea kayaking committee. It can be renewed at any time, but The Mountaineers requires that sea kayak leaders returning after more than 3 years away go through some refreshers to ensure they are up to date on current practices.

The Sea Kayak Leader Emeritus Badge is awarded to those whose Sea Kayak Leader status has expired, and it is a lifetime badge.
