Field trip: Basic Sea Kayaking Course
Open Water Session - Brownsville Marina (Bremerton)
Two days of on water activities, learning basic kayak skills. Wet exits, rescues, and basic paddle strokes will be covered. Prepare to spend most of both days on the water.

Please arrive promptly at 8 AM
Olympic Outdoor Sports, will be on site to distribute your pre-arranged rental equipment: Each of you will need to sign their waiver and paperwork. Before receiving your dry suit and kayak equipment package. Please get dressed promptly and locate the person wearing a bright construction vest they will inform you of your assigned paddling pod for the weekend.
The class will end at 4 PM each afternoon.
**This session is only for students who need to rent equipment.**
The instruction will be in a protected yet open water setting in small groups which provides ample time and guidance to practice wet exits and rescues, and basic paddle strokes.
Required Equipment
Olympic Outdoor Center will have rental packages available. 2024 fees are listed below for reference, and this post will be updated with 2025 fees soon. Expect an increase in cost for this year and note that OOC has their own cancelation fee for equipment which we will honor. Please reserve your equipment as soon as you commit to the course. Do not wait until the last minute as this causes issue for OOC and you might not get to rent equipment if you attempt to book late.
Boat & drysuit together: $150 per day
Boat only: $85 per day
Drysuit only: $65 per day
