This trail is currently closed, due to landslide from recent heavy rain. If it is not open by hike date, there will be an alt trip in the columbia gorge OR or WA side.
This trail is truly a wonder! Burn scar is evident, but blooms are loving more sunlight! The turn around point will be shortly after walking UNDER tunnel falls! Most of the trail stays high from the creek. The trail has some narrow sections and has some handrails. Most people do fine, but if you are truly afraid of heights, this hike may not be for you. There will also be the issue of having to pass people on the out and back.
This hike is day 3 in a series of columbia gorge hikes in the spring river rambler series.
You are welcome to one or all three of them. Both leaders are staying at beacon rock SP. Reservations are open. There are also nearby hotels and campgrounds.
