***Trip initially open to Winter Hiking Series students. Trip will open for registration to all Mountaineers 7 to 10 days prior to the hike date.***

We will look forward to a great day of wandering through the Pinnacle Peak Park trail system. We will start up the old gravel forest service road, connecting to some trails up to the Fire Outlook. Depending on weather and other factors, we will possibly go part way down the Cal Magnuson trail or double back down the way we came and back up a different path to revisit the Fire Outlook for a longer break. The plan is to go a total of  about 6 miles with a total elevation gain of 1200-1400 feet. This is a great winter hike with a lot of options, the potential for some great views and a nice covered area (the Fire Outlook) for our longer break. It is not a long hike, but there are some steep areas. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me before signing up.

There are two toilets at the parking lot that should be open by our  9am start time. No parking pass is required.

We will be hiking rain or shine so please make sure you dress in layers and have rain gear with you. It is also possible that we could encounter a little snow or ice at this time of year, so I will ask all participants to have micro-spikes with them just in case.

We will meet at 9:00am in the parking lot at the southern trail trailhead access  along SE Mud Mountain Road and SE 481st Street just outside of Enumclaw (NOT the Cal Magnuson trailhead!!!). See the Starting GPS point above. The plan is to be on the trail by 9:15am at the latest.
