Interested in transitioning from the climbing gym to real rock? Want to solidify or refresh newly acquired rock climbing skills? Want to develop new skills or push your climbing up a grade or two? If so, this course is for you.

The Tacoma Sport Climbing Course is intended to support students in the development of skills necessary to safely lead and belay single-pitch routes on bolts, both indoors and outdoors. Students entering the course are expected to have a top-rope belay certificate from a local gym.

10 essentials

helmet, harness, belay device, locking carabiner, rock shoes, *anchor material and *quickdraws

We recommend not buying quickdraws or a personal anchor until after classroom session 1, where you'll get a chance to see what style of gear you like. Ropes are not required but highly recommended
