PNW Wildlife and Tracking: Naturalist Lecture Series

Join wildlife tracker and naturalist, Sophie Mazowita, as she shares tips and techniques for tracking wildlife in the PNW. The stories of elusive animals are written on the landscape, if you know how to read their tracks and signs. Sophie will offer an orientation to where to look, how to interpret wildlife sign, and tools and resources to learn more.

About the presenter: Sophie Mazowita is a naturalist, outdoor educator, and wildlife guide based in Seattle. She started tracking over a decade ago and now contributes those skills to carnivore conservation and wildlife monitoring initiatives in Western Washington. She also offers tracking programs, events and resources through her website:

This event will be conducted over Zoom.  You will need access to a computer with a speaker, microphone, and camera, as well as connection to high-speed internet. A smartphone or tablet can also be used to participate. Be sure to download the Zoom app ahead of your first meeting. You do not need to sign up for a (free) account, just have the app on your device. You will be prompted to join the meeting through the Zoom app when you click the meeting link. Note that the “one touch mobile” information connects you only with audio and you will not see any screen sharing.  Information about how to log-on to the Zoom meeting will be sent a day or two before the session.
