Meet at The Mountaineers at 10 AM. We will be in this workshop from 10-2:30.

We will be doing multi-pitch transition and catching lead falls. This is the workshop to take so that you can transition into longer alpine climbs and multi-pitch climbs this summer and in coming years.

Volunteers will be meeting at 9:30 AM.

Schedule: 10-12 PM Half of the group practices multi-pitch transitions on the eastside of South Plaza, and the other half practices catching lead falls on the west side of the South Plaza (teens will be taking lead falls, and any volunteers who want lead fall practice. Each teen must catch three falls of different lengths, and all falls will have a backup belayer who is an adult volunteer or staff member.)

12-12:30 Lunch

12:30-2:30 Groups Switch.

We will finish up earlier with more volunteers! Let me know if you can come for part or all of the workshop!

Instructors will be working with you in small groups as you practice multipitch transitions and lead belaying, including catching lead falls.

MAC Members: If you'd like to practice taking lead falls, let Sarah M. and the trip leaders know! This will be a great opportunity to practice! (And all new lead belayers will be backed up by a second person). We will also need experienced MAC members to coach newer members on multipitch transitions and lead belaying.

Volunteers are needed to mentor MAC teens as they instruct each other, to supervise lead fall catching, and to instruct multipitch transitions and lead belaying.

Be here if you'd like to go on the Leavenworth Multipitch and alpine climbs this summer! Check in with the VP of Skills if you need to attend this day to do the trips you want to do this summer!
