Seattle Junior MAC Mountaineers Lodge Weekend - Meany Lodge

[MUST BE VACCINATED] Jr. MACers stay at one of the rustic Mountaineers Lodges for a weekend of snowy adventure.

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

SUNDAY JANUARY 16

  • 8AM: Arrive at Crystal Springs Parking ready to load the Snow Cat
  • 8:30AM: Snow Cat will drive us to the lodge

MONDAY JANUARY 17

  • 3:30PM:Packed and ready to ride the Snow Cat back to the cars
  • 5PM: Return to cars

Lodge weekends offer Jr. MAC families the opportunity to explore new, snowy pursuits and provide a warm and welcoming home base to explore from. Lodge activities include: snowshoeing, cross country or downhill skiing, sledding, snow cave building, board games, etc. 

MEALS ARE  INCLUDED: 

  • Sunday: Lunch & Dinner
  • Monday: Breakfast, Lunch, & Afternoon Snack

vaccination policy

Must be vaccinated 

Doesn't matter if you're not eligible. This means you need to have had your second dose by January 1. Meany Lodge will be requesting proof of vaccination. 

Boosters 

No policies requiring you to be boosted, but it is definitely encouraged.

covid testing

  • Before the trip: We highly encourage you get tested within days prior to the trip. 
  • Arrival at Meany: We will provide rapid vaccine tests for everyone to take.
  • If either of these tests are positive, unfortunately we won't be able to let you join on the trip (you'll be fully refunded for the cost of the lodge).

Meany Lodge Packing List and "How to" Pack for Meany Lodge

CLOTHES

  • Boots (insulated and waterproof) 
  • Gaiters (optional but recommended)* 
  • Warm clothing and extra synthetic layers
  • Long underwear top and bottom (synthetic) 
  • Wool or synthetic socks (multiple pairs!!) 
  • Liner socks (optional but recommended) 
  • Fleece or wool sweater
  • Waterproof shell (jacket with hood and pants) 
  • Waterproof gloves
  • Liner gloves
  • Set of PJ’s to wear in the lodge
  • Stocking hat (wool or synthetic) 
  • Brimmed cap 
  • Lodge slippers
  • Sleeping stuff

GEAR

  • Snowshoes* 
  • Poles*
  • Helmet (sledding or downhill ski hill)
  • Backpack for snow activities and carrying stuff*
  • Duffle bag to carry everything else
  • Sleeping bag and pillow case 
  • If sleeping in the lodge, just a lightweight sleeping bag and pillow case will do (mattresses/pillows provided by lodge)
  • If sleeping in a cave, bring two sleeping pads and a heavyweight sleeping bag*

OTHER

  • Sunglasses
