The Explorers will spend the weekend car camping and climbing!

IMPORTANT INFO

  • Trip Sheet: Trip Sheet will be posted within the 2 weeks prior to the trip.

  • Guests: If spots are still available one week prior to the trip, email Hank to request that a friend or sibling be able to join.
  • Land Acknowledgement:We will be recreating on the ancestral lands and waters of the Yakama Nation, whose people have lived here and stewarded these lands since time immemorial. The Seattle Mountaineers Youth Clubs encourage all participants to recreate mindfully and respectfully on our upcoming trip, honoring the people and cultures who have long cared for this place.

CLIMBING GEAR CHECKOUT:

  • Please reach out to Hank for gear requests.

CLOTHES: PACK FOR WARM CONDITIONS DURING THE DAY

  • Clothes for adventuring during the day (layers)
    • Clothes for at camp in the evening (slightly warmer because it’ll cool down in the evening)
  • Sun Protection: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, sun shirt, etc.
  • Day pack
  • Hiking Boots
  • Camp Shoes (optional) 

CAMPING ITEMS:

  • Personal mess kit including: plate/bowl, utensils, cup
  • Camp chair
  • Tent (can be borrowed from the Mountaineers with advance notice)
  • Sleeping bag/pad (can be borrowed from the Mountaineers with advance notice)
  • Pillow (we’re car camping; might as well be comfy!)
  • Toiletries (restrooms available at campsite)
  • Headlamp/flashlight with extra batteries
  • Face mask(s)
  • Hand Sanitizer

FOOD FOR YOURSELF/FAMILY (OR GROUP MEALS): 

    • Breakfast: (x1)
    • Lunch: (x2)
    • Dinner: (x1)
    • Snacks: enough for both Saturday and Sunday
  • Water: 2 liters per person per day minimum
