October GoWalk! Pacing Urban Walks: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 450 feet of elevation gain - Magnuson Park
GoWalk! Pace Urban Walks are low-stress activities to help you determine where you are in terms of gear, the pace (1.5 - 2 mph) and distance you can complete comfortably, and what your season goals for conditioning and walking are, so that you can determine what level of walks and pace would be the best fit for you to sign up for - no pressure, no judgment!

Participation in 1 pacing hike is required for all GoWalk! participants.
Pacing hikes will be offered in October and will open for registration on September 18 at 12:00 pm. Register for only one pace walk. Pacing walks assist you in setting goals and action steps for your urban walking season and for achieving them. They also give you an opportunity to assess your gear and clothing options.
Meeting place: Magnuson Park
Meeting time: 9:00am
Intended meeting is the parking lot just east of the tennis facility (at far east end of lot). This lot is approached from the the west park entrance. More directions will be provided.
The walk will be about 4 miles, in a general counter-clock wise direction of the park. We will be doing some meandering loops. The park is a former Navy aviation facility. It was the predecessor to the current Whidbey Navel Air base. We will walk past the former residential building and then head into some semi-forested area for a slight hill climb (just 50 feet or so). Then we will enter some wet land areas and marvel at the work of the beavers. The walk will continue through open grass/wet land areas, to vista of Lake Washington, to climb the kit hill (again just a slight easy hill) and eventually we return to starting.
Required Equipment
You will receive a Hello Walker email (about four days prior) from your trip leader prior to your selected urban walk that will provide you with details for the outing that you selected.
