Methow Nordic Ski Clinic – Skate Skiing

Three-day ski camp in the Methow Valley. Includes an evening ski-waxing clinic.

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers course.

Tour the Methow Valley’s best cross-country ski trails and refine your skate skiing technique. This clinic includes a two-hour tour with a certified PSIA instructor on Saturday and Sunday. Along the way, participants will get tips, practice skills, and improve their skiing technique. On Monday, participants will have the opportunity to refine what they learned on a slightly longer guided tour. Destination will be driven by student interests, fitness, and skill.

Participants will also be able to tune their skis in a hands-on waxing clinic on Sunday night. Instructors will provide a demonstration and offer one-on-one advice as students wax their own skis for the conditions.

Prerequisites: This clinic is geared toward advanced-beginner skiers who have completed the Mountaineers 3-day intro ski class or the equivalent. Skiers should be able to comfortably ski 10-16 kilometers.

Cost: Includes a 3-day trail pass, three on-snow tours with an instructor, a ski-waxing clinic, and supplies for the waxing clinic.

Lodging: The course fee does not include lodging. Students should make reservations early to ensure they have a place to stay. (The North Cascades Mountain Hostel offers affordable beds and a discount for Mountaineers members.)
