MeadoWatch: a Citizen-Science Program on Wildflower Timing in Mt. Rainier National Park: MeadoWatch is a citizen science program in which volunteers monitor the timing of wildflower reproduction (budding, blooming, fruit set, etc.) in Mt. Rainier National Park. The program has been operating since 2013 and its scientific focus is on understanding the relationships between climate and wildflower reproduction. In my talk I will discuss some past and current work with the MeadoWatch data, as well as a program to expand the MeadoWatch program to include plant-pollinator interaction monitoring which we piloted in summer 2025.

MeadoWatch: a Citizen-Science Program on Wildflower Timing in Mt. Rainier National Park

Presentation by Dr. Berry Brosi - University of Washington Professor

MeadoWatch is a citizen science program in which volunteers monitor the timing of wildflower reproduction (budding, blooming, fruit set, etc.) in Mt. Rainier National Park. The program has been operating since 2013, and its scientific focus is on understanding the relationships between climate and wildflower reproduction. In his talk, Dr. Berry Brosi will discuss some past and current work with the MeadoWatch data, as well as a program to expand the MeadoWatch program to include plant-pollinator interaction monitoring, which we piloted in summer 2025.

The presentation will be recorded and made available to those who have signed up.

The MeadoWatch program is a fantastic effort to understand our National Park. You can find more information about it at this website: http://www.meadowatch.org/

A number of Mountaineers volunteer for the program.
