CHS 2 Hike - Yakima Skyline Ridge

Let's meet up at the Preston Park and Ride (Exit 22 off of I-90) at 7:15AM.  We will then consolidate into carpools and be on the road by 7:30AM. Drivers will need a Discover Pass; riders please be prepared to reimburse your driver for approx. 250 round trip miles.

A wonderful spring hike east of the mountains in the L.T. Murray State Wildlife Recreational Area with views and (hopefully) some wildlife and wildflower sightings!  Our route starts from Buffalo Road, elevation 1260', heads northeast and then north along the ridge line until we reach 3000'.  If the group is willing, there is an option to trek up to Gracie Point for lunch which will add 200'. Weather permitting, we will be treated to views of the Yakima River winding through the canyons and the snow-capped Stuart Range.

Please remember to bring the Ten Essentials. Hike leader will provide maps for all participants. Plan on stopping at the popular Yellow Church Cafe in Ellensburg for a bite to eat before driving back over Snoqualmie Pass.  We are aiming to be back at the P&R by 5:30-6:00PM.
