This is a loop hike, We will hike along the Woody Trail next to the Wallace River, pausing to take in views of the falls at the lookout sites. We'll continue to ascend past the Upper Falls to connect with a logging road that we will take to Wallace Lake. We'll stop to have lunch at the Lake, then head back to the parking lot via the Greg Ball Trail.
More information will be sent in the Hello Hiker email.
Location: Wallace Falls State Park at the Trailhead
Meeting Time: 7:45am Boots on the Trail: 8:00am
Directions: You can use Google Maps for directions to Wallace State Parks. However, the WTA recommends the following: Proceeding from Everett on Hwy 2, approach the city of Gold Bar. Turn left onto 1st Street, then drive 0.4 miles and take a right onto May Creek Rd (there will be Wallace Falls signage for both turns). Snake your way up May Creek Rd for 1.3 miles until you reach a Y-junction. Right will take you into Camp Huston, so proceed left and drive up a short path into the Wallace Falls State Park parking lot. The lot is spacious but can easily fill up on the weekends as the park is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Washington State Parks has a live camera on the parking lot.
Permits: WA State Discover Pass is required. A single day pass is available to print here.
