Key exchange hike from south to north along Tatoosh Ridge with detours to Tatoosh Peak and Tatoosh Lakes.  We will meet up with the other CHS2 group hiking from north to south and exchange car keys.  This direction has the greater elevation gain and the steeper ascent at the start - but with less impact on the knees at the end!

The hike climbs from the southern trailhead, quickly gaining 3,000ft over 3 miles via a switchbacked path.  When the ridge is ascended, we will hike along the ridge enjoying the views and detour to the summit of Tatoosh Peak.  From there we will descend back to the ridge trail and continue north along the ridge, making another detour to Tatoosh Lakes before descending to the northern trailhead.  Somewhere along the hike we will meet up with the other CHS2 group and exchange car keys.
(describes the hike from the northern trailhead).

Will leave from Rainier Campout.  Time tbd but it will be early!

The hike will start from the southern trailhead at the end of Forest Road 5290.
