Hike Overview
We’ll begin our adventure at the Upper Blanchard Parking Lot, heading up the trail toward Lily and Lizard Lakes. After a short break at the lake, we’ll continue on to Oyster Dome, where we’ll take a longer rest if the weather cooperates. From Oyster Dome, we’ll retrace our steps back to Lily Lake and then follow a different route down to the parking lot.
Why This Hike Is Special
This is one of my favorite routes because the views from Oyster Dome are absolutely spectacular—on a clear day, you can see across the water to the San Juan Islands. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a mix of forest, lakes, and rocky outcrops. The trail is also rich with natural history: keep an eye out for the large glacial erratics scattered throughout the area, remnants of the last ice age.
We’ll likely hear a variety of birds as we hike, and the forest offers plenty of opportunities to learn from each other and appreciate the landscape.
We will meet on the Upper Blanchard parking lot at 8:30! Bathrooms are at the TH.
