This hike will take us on a lollipop loop up Mt. Washington, just off I-90, and then over to Change Peak. Here is the WTA description of the Mt. WA section: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-washington-1
On a clear day, we will enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Rainier and the Cedar River Watershed from the top. We will take short breaks at the tops of both peaks before heading down the trail to complete our loop.
We will start hiking at 8:00 a.m., so if you drive directly to the trailhead, please arrive a bit early so you are ready to start at 8:00.
If hikers are interested, we can also meet for carpooling in Issaquah, such as at Tibbets Park & Ride. More information in Hello Hiker email.
Directions to the Tibbett’s Park & Ride (Issaquah)
Take exit 15 (WA-900 W/17th Avenue NW) off I-90 eastbound. Take a right at the bottom of the ramp. Drive approximately ½ mile and turn left on Newport Way NW. Take the first right into the Tibbetts Valley Park & Ride. (Not the multi-level parking garage on your left.) Drive past the Skate park further into the parking lot.
Directions to the Trailhead
From Seattle drive east on I-90 to exit 38. Head south (right), immediately crossing the South Fork Snoqualmie River, and take the first right turn into Ollalie State Park, a few hundred feet from the highway. Follow the gravel road to the end, parking near the bathrooms at the west end of the lot. Pit toilets in the lot. Discover Pass required. Trailhead Coordinates: 47.4420, -121.6722
