This hike is in Beacon Rock State Park on the WA side of the Columbia River.
The hike will start at the Hamilton Mountain trailhead. We'll hike the Hamilton Mountain Trail that climbs to the summit of Hamilton Mountain. Once we’ve gained the summit, we'll continue along the ridge picking up the Upper Hardy Creek Trail which eventually loops down and back long under the hike. We'll meet up with the Hamilton Mountain Trail which we will descend to the trailhead. I’m expecting the hike to take 6 hours including breaks.
This describes the first part of the hike to the summit of Hamilton Mountain but we'll hike a slightly longer loop.
Will co-ordinate a departure time and carpooling from the Columbia Gorge Campout. We'll meet at the Hamilton Mountain trailhead in Beacon Rock State Park which is off Highway 14 on the WA side of the Columbia River.
