CHS 2 Hike - Eagle Creek to Tunnel Falls

COLUMBIA GORGE WEEKEND CHS 2 HIKE. A spectacular hike to waterfall viewpoints (Punchbowl, Tunnel, and more!), this route ranks as one of the best hikes in the Gorge!

  • Moderate
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 12.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,550 ft

We will meet in front of the Cascade Motel (300 NW Forest Lane, Cascade Locks, OR) office at 8:15 AM.

This is a classic and quintessential Gorge hike. Join me for a traipse through lush forest and over wandering creeks to a viewpoint of Punchbowl Falls followed by a few more miles and the spectacular approach to Tunnel Falls along a deep gorge.  We can wander as far as Corkscrew Falls (also known as Twister Falls) to have lunch and then return.  Our Friday journey should allow us some solitude from the weekend crowds that normally beat down this very-popular path!
