This hike is a workout!  4000'' gain in about 4 miles to the lookout.   We will aim for a steady ascending pace that pushes us somewhat - i.e. not easily conversational - yet with periodic breaks.  We will regroup at all junctions.  Descending speed will be faster.   Note: we will aim for an average moving speed of 2.0, but given the steepness of the trail, we are likely to fall a bit short.  The point is to get a good workout!

The trail condition may not be as pleasant and well-maintained as the more popular routes like Mt. Si, so be prepared.  In fact, we were there in 2023, pushing through dense overgrowth (see photo) in pouring rain and saw no view...  so this is another attempt!

Here is the description of the trail, and  you can see a "preview" here.

The plan is to meet at the TH at 8 and start the hike at 8:10am.  Carpool is strongly encouraged as it's a long drive.  There will be an option to leave late afternoon prior and camp or stay at a cabin.   (The trip leader are planning on camping/cabining; you are welcome to join us!   If you don't have a tent or other camping equipments,  just ask as we have extra!)
