Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series
CHS 2 Hike - Baldy (Yakima Canyon)
CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)-- don't let the stats fool you! While not overly long, this is hike with a mix of relatively flat and some very steep hills-- great early season workout, and with luck we'll get some amazing wildflowers!

This is a big hike in a small package! Lots of elevation gain and amazing views of the Yakima river canyon, wildflowers, and the hills of central Washington. We'll get the big uphill out of the way first, and then finish up our distance on the flat trails along the river.
We'll gather at the Big Pines recreation site (46.79313, -120.45611), near the day use parking area at 9am, and start hiking by 9:30. The hike leaders will be camping at Big Pines (reserved RV sites are available, and this time of year generally sites are available for walk-up). We'll help coordinate folks carpooling from the Seattle are Saturday morning as well.
