7:45 AM at the trailhead to be ready to start hiking at 8:00 AM. Available parking at the trailhead is limited to 35-40 cars. No parking pass is needed. There is no privy at the trailhead so, if needed, plan to stop at Granite Falls which is a couple of miles before the trailhead.
When the trail was hiked in early March, sections of it were quite muddy and there were about a dozen blowdowns although none were difficult to go either under or over. Because of this, consider wearing gaiters and bringing hiking poles.
