Leader is a photographer and birder, so CHS-1 pace is perfect to appreciate spring birdsong and sunrises. Leader also led both CHS-1 and CHS-2 hikes throughout 2025 and taught the CHS conditioning and nutrition segment in the 2026 orientation, so this is a perfect time to ask any questions about the program, conditioning, hike selection, preparing for heat and smoke, etc.

After we warm up and stretch, we'll head for the Balcony with frequent check-ins and short breaks at each of the viewpoints, along with a longer snack stop at the Balcony view itself. Moving pace will be 1.5-2 mph.

Early morning Tuesdays with Court continues. Meet at Exit 38 TH at 645 AM booted and ready for stretches and introductions, so we can be walking by 7 AM. Carpooling details will follow in Hello Hiker.
