CHS 1 Hike - Cady Ridge & Pacific Crest Trail

Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series

CHS 1 Hike - Cady Ridge & Pacific Crest Trail

We will be hiking Cady Ridge to PCT and Dishpan Gap. The hike will be 16 miles out and back with a gain of about 3,000 feet. Cady Ridge is in a class all by itself - a mile-high ridge dominated by the blue and purple hues of lupine, jaw-dropping views of dozens of peaks, and the snowy dominance of Glacier Peak. CHS graduation hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.75-2.0 mph).

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 16.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,000 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,600 ft

We will be watching wildfire and smoke trends as we near our hike date. We are concerned about proximity to the Cougar Creek Fire.

We will communicate with our Hello Hiker email early in the week of the hike to facilitate hikers making arrangements to carpool to the trail head. You should anticipate a very early start as we have a 2.5 (+/- depending on where you live) hour drive to the trail head.

The trail head is best accessed with high clearance vehicles due to road conditions. Drivers need a Northwest Forest Pass.
