CHS Alumni Hike - Granite Mountain Trail

Alumni-only hike offered for graduates of Seattle CHS to enjoy beautiful fall colors as part of the continuing Early Tuesdays with Court and Diane. Led at 2-2 mph up (photo opps galore will mean a few stops in the basin) and 2.3-2.5 down.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,800 ft
  • Pace: 2-2.5 MPH

Based on previous years, this is one of the prettiest times to do this hike (no bugs, almost no crowds, nice temperatures, beautiful fall colors) if we time it perfectly. Originally posted on 2/25 as a club hike then changed to CHS-Alumni; we’ll see what we get! Birds, photo opportunities, and a conversational pace. Bring plenty of water as we'll be out for a while.

7 a.m. start at Exit 47 (Pratt Lake Trailhead) parking lot. Plan is to be stretched and walking at 7:15. Optional carpool: meet Court at 65th Park and Ride and I-5 at 6 a.m. or if you're coming from the east side, Diane will have another option. Details will be forthcoming in Hello Hiker email.
