Thunder Creek is a classic forested river trail in North Cascades National Park. We'll follow this lovely trail to McAllister Group Camp, a gentle walk of 5.5 miles with about 1000' of elevation gain and 500' of elevation loss. More information about Thunder Creek and McAllister including trip reports and photos can be found on the WTA site here.
This is a straightforward single night out-and-back trip in a beautiful area with trailhead, trail, and campsite that present no unusual technical challenges.
The trailhead is located in a popular area that can be crowded on weekends, so we will go Friday-Saturday to avoid the crowds.
This destination is contingent upon the leader's ability to secure the necessary North Cascades National Park backcountry permits when they become available. If the permit cannot be obtained, or weather / trail conditions are not favorable, the destination will be changed to something comparable.
