Basic Climbing Instructor Review - Snow Skills

Structured event for instructors to practice and review skills as they're taught in Basic Climbing for 2022. This evening practice is specifically for snow skills. Rock skills will be on January 13.
30 ( 40 capacity)

Would you like to instruct at 2022 Basic Climbing? Would you like to refresh your own climbing skills and practice your technique? The Instructor Reviews are NOT required to teach at Basic Climbing but are a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our club and climbing community after a long absence. The 2022 Basic Climbing course is planned to run on the traditional schedule. RSVP is required due to COVID restrictions at our venue, as well as proof of COVID vaccination. Please email julie@mountainjules.com with your proof of COVID vaccination prior to the events (redacting DOB is just fine).

There are two focuses at the Instructor Reviews - your own proficiency in the climbing skill, and your ability to teach the skill to adult learners - and some preparation is helpful prior to attending the Review. You can use the Instructor Resources to brush up on what we're teaching this year (Google Classroom space, email Julie for access). These resources are the same that are provided to students, and note that we will continue to add videos. At the Review, you will be given an opportunity to watch a skill demonstration and then practice the skill yourself. You'll also need to demonstrate teaching the skill.
Note that instructor and student proof of vaccination is required to participate in all Basic Climbing course activities, and masks are required for indoor gatherings per CDC and Mountaineers guidance.
