Leader's notes

There’s much more to maneuvering your boat than just forward, reverse, and braking on one side to turn. Learning the maneuvering strokes allows you to control your boat better in wind or waves, or simply to make the boat go where you want it with the least amount of effort.  Improving your strokes makes kayaking more fun! It provides you the fundamentals for training later in wind, waves, current, rock gardens, and surf.

Helmets required - we will be moving in and out of pilings and hidden rocks along the Ruston shoreline.

Euro blades only - someday we will learn the stick!

Expect to get wet - capsizing happens when you're learning new strokes!

Be sure to pack a lunch and bring plenty of water.

Jack Hyde Park - be ready to paddle at 9 am

We will end around 3
