Rock II weekend field trip for Olympia Intermediate Climbing students. Check climbs on classic multipitch climbing routes in the Leavenworth area along with self rescue techniques. Rock I is a prerequisite for Rock II and must be taken in the same year including the lectures.
Prior lead climbing experience is now required to sign up for the the rock modules to ensure all participants have the foundational skills for the technical curriculum. Experience from local gyms (like holding a lead card), Mountaineers courses, or equivalent outside experience is required; please reach out to the module leader/contact or the Intermediate Committee if you have any questions about this requirement.
Climbing Self-Rescue: Essential Skills, Technical Tips & Improvised Solutions, Mountaineers books is used as reference.
Instructors will likely head over to Vantage Friday evening for an early start Saturday morning.
Many camping options are in the area including some free camping options.
