This class is designed to teach rock climbing skills that will enable you to climb safely in the back country. You will improve on the skills learned in the basic climbing course which includes belaying, rappelling, and climbing in balance. In addition you will be introduced to more advanced climbing techniques including placing protection, building anchors, and lead climbing. The class will be taught in a series of four lectures combined with hands on climbing at Warehouse Rock Gym. We then move outside to four different rock climbing areas. You must have completed the basic climbing course to be eligible for this module.

Class Fee - $90.00 Students are responsible for all gym fees and parking passes at the Frenchman Coulee field trip. Recommended (though not required) book is Climbing Anchors by John Long
