A beloved tradition in the greater Seattle arts scene since 1923, the Mountaineers Players invite you to experience theater as it was meant to be—alive, immersive, and surrounded by nature. Each spring, summer, and fall, audiences gather beneath towering evergreens at the Kitsap Forest Theater, where stories unfold under an open sky and the scent of cedar and fir fills the air.
As one of the oldest nonprofit theater groups in the country, the Players perform in the heart of a breathtaking 460-acre Rhododendron Preserve near Bremerton. Here, a natural amphitheater carved into the forest hillside offers terraced earth seating beneath a canopy of giant trees, while lush ferns line the stage like nature’s own footlights. It’s not just a performance—it’s an escape into a world where art and wilderness meet.
Make a day of it. The forest trail to the theater opens at 1:00 pm—arrive early to claim your perfect seat and enjoy a leisurely picnic among the trees. Before or after the show, hike the “Big Tree” trail to stand in awe of one of the largest Douglas firs on the Kitsap Peninsula. Younger adventurers can explore and play at the Tree House structure near Kitsap Cabin, making it a magical outing for all ages.
Disney's Frozen
For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.
In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.
Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love.
