Climbing Self Rescue-1 Field Trip 1 - Green Mountain: School Rock

A trip to practice and demonstrate knowledge of self-rescue techniques presented in classroom session.

Meet at the Gold Creek Trailhead. Be ready to head up the trail at 8am.

We will build rescue anchors and define them.  We will practice pick-off of an injured climber with lower and raise as the recovery technique. We will build various mechanical advantage systems to accomplish the raise and will changeover from lower to raise after our pick-off. 

We will build lowering systems using the ATC Guide, primarily, though any descent control device can be used. We will practice with what you carry on your harness.
