Climbing Self Rescue-2 Field Trip - Green Mountain: School Rock

A field session where we will practice rescue of a fallen second and a fallen leader.

8 PM at the Gold Creek Trailhead for Green Mountain. State Parks pass required to park in the parking lot. We will plan to depart the parking lot at 0800, so arriving no later than 0745 should do the trick. 

Field session where students will execute rescue of a second who is unable to advance the climb and may be unresponsive. Second iteration for the second to advance to and rescue a fallen leader who may be unresponsive.

Required Equipment

Climbing harness, helmet, shoes and rock climbing rack including slings, locking and non-locking carabiners and sufficient gear to build desired friction release hitches, carabiner block and tackle MA systems.

Climbing shoes not required. Have found that approach shoes work well for this field trip.
