Join us for a 5 mile hike to a beautiful viewpoint on the Kitsap Peninsula! Our goal for this hike will be to get outside and enjoy views of mountains and Puget Sound while returning to the trailhead safely. We will plan to do introductions and orientation at 8:00am, then hit the trail. My hike style is social, but destination-focused and I encourage getting to know your fellow hikers. I am happy to stop for photos and plant identification, but ask that folks keep up with the group. We will hike as a loose group (everyone remains within eyesight) at a pace of 1.5-2mph and will plan to stop for a snack at the summit.

We’ll be hiking 5 miles round trip with 1,000ft of elevation gain. The route follows the Gold Creek and Vista Trails through Madrona trees and rhododendrons up to a viewpoint of Puget Sound, the Olympics, and the Cascades. Be aware that this is a multi-use trail and we may run into horses and bikers. We should finish hiking in 4 hours. After the hike, anyone who is interested is invited to have lunch at a restaurant in Bremerton.

Additional information about the hike can be found here: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/green-mountain-1

8:00am at the Gold Creek Trailhead. I suggest arriving at the trailhead 15 minutes early. Hikers are expected to be geared up and ready to hike at 8:00am. A Discover Pass is required. There is no bathroom at the trailhead, but there is one closer to the summit.
