Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course
May Hikes: 3 to 5.5 miles, 300 to 1,250 feet gain - Bridal Veil Falls
Bridal Veil Falls is a scenic hike near Lake Serene that lies beneath the rugged peaks of Mount Index. It features a 100-foot rock face where we’ll have a close-up (and likely wet!) view of the falls. A stairway parallels the waterfall, taking us up to our destination. The trail starts off gently. At around 1.5 miles, it forks to the left and crosses a bridge with a view of the lower falls. The trail becomes rockier and we may encounter muddy conditions, so sturdy, waterproof boots are a must!

I enjoy taking the time to admire the scenery along the trail, so we’ll keep a fairly steady pace, but will also take the time to stop and enjoy the sights the forest has to offer at this time of year.
It is important that participants look at the stated hike description, distance, pace, elevation gain and consider your current fitness level in determining if this hike is a good fit for you.
