June Hikes: 3.5 to 6 miles, 400 to 1,500 feet gain

Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course

June Hikes: 3.5 to 6 miles, 400 to 1,500 feet gain - Middle Fork Snoqualmie River

We'll do an out and back on the beautiful Middle Fork Snoqualmie trail, with a short break at the turn-around point so pack a snack. Views of the river, big trees, moss and ferns make this feel magical. This hike counts toward your monthly required GoHike course June trips.

This is a beautiful area, walking along the river, through the trees and ferns/moss, with views of surrounding mountains.  There are some areas of narrow trail with exposure, gentle switchbacks, rocky path, potentially small water crossings, bridges and overgrowth so we'll experience a little bit of everything. The "best" views are near the river, at the beginning and end of the trip.

We will hike as a group (meaning the leader and sweep should be within sight distance most of the time) with a moving pace between 1.5 and 2.0 mph, with stops for equipment adjustments, photos and to enjoy nature. There will be about a 10 minute break at the turn-around point so bring a snack and something to sit on. We like to have fun and enjoy the journey, not just hurry back to the trailhead.

There is NO cell service at this trailhead and no public transportation.

Given that this location is farther out, please do not have afternoon plans that you need to rush back to.

There is a pit toilet here - recommend bringing TP and hand sanitizer just in case supplies are low.

Please be looking for the Hello Hiker email the week before the hike - failure to respond by the due date could result in removal from the hike if there is a waitlist.

This is a good trip for carpooling. Eastgate Park & Ride is typically a good meeting point. Hike leaders do not arrange carpools.

This trip would be rescheduled or relocated in the event of excessive heat, wildfire/smoke or the like.

8:00am at the Middle Fork Snoqualmie Trailhead, near the trail sign/map - please arrive early to get get geared up and use the facilities.
