The Mountaineers do not recommend carpooling outside your household at this time.
Starting at the Chirico trailhead parking lot near the paraglider landing area, you'll start by climbing the steep, forested hillside over many stone steps that have been painstakingly laid by volunteers over decades like an elaborate puzzle. The lovely forest and the grade continue to the South Launch Viewpoint at about 1.6 miles with an unobstructed view of Mount Rainier, clouds permitting. Then continue on another quarter mile, gaining 140 feet, and reach Poo Poo Point and its North Launch Viewpoint. Enjoy a snack or lunch while watching the paragliders take off! There is a restroom nearby.
We will follow The Mountaineers Covid-19 protocols and every participant will be asked to agree to the Covid-19 Code of Conduct in order to register.
