April Hikes: 2.5 - 5 miles, 250 - 1,000 feet gain

Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course

April Hikes: 2.5 - 5 miles, 250 - 1,000 feet gain - Anti-Aircraft Peak—Clay Pit Peak Loop

A history rich wander through the highlands of Newcastle in Bellevue. We'll enjoy route-finding on an easy and enchanting ramble while making stops along the way to absorb the coal mining and brick making history of the Cougar Mountain trail system, not to mention the cold war anti-aircraft missile systems common to the Puget Sound foothills. Once a thriving mountain community, changing times were the downfall of this history-rich area. This hike counts toward your monthly required GoHike course April trips.
