This is an overnight camp, so you will not only practice using your gear but also sleeping and eating in 'the great outdoors' (though still close to civilization).
The point of this event is to allow those that aren't comfortable with tenting to try it while having their car nearby (about 30 feet away). Feel free to bring multiple options (such as extra pads, blankets, etc.). If you get particularly uncomfortable, you're welcome to return to your vehicle at any time. You could even head home (after notifying the leader).
Students from other mentor groups are welcome if space allows.
The hike is optional and might only be part way (we might not summit). The hike could be Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, or both, depending on timing and interest.
To be determined with participants. Carpooling will be an option. We will arrive late afternoon, so departing the Seattle area mid-afternoon.
