Field trip: Backpacking Building Blocks (B3) Course
Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Snowgrass Flat & Goat Lake Basin
This field trip will give B3 students the opportunity to try out gear and new skills on an easy overnight backpack with an experienced mentor. Registration is opens initially for Aisa and Susan's mentor group.

One of the loveliest places in Washington state, in my humble opinion. It's a wow all around. Distances aren't long to allow ups time to enjoy this amazing place, but there is a lot of up and down. Consider elevation and descent carefully before signing up for this trip.
- Thursday: Meet at the Walupt Lake Campground (optional).
- Friday: Meet at 9:30 Berry Patch Trailhead. Hike to Jordan Basin 4 miles, 2, 000 feet of gain. Optional out and back to Hawkeye Point, 3.4 miles out and back, 1,500 feet gain and descent.
- Saturday: Hike from Jordan Basin to Snowgrass Flat with a stop at Goat Lake. 5.5 miles, 1,648 feet of gain, 1,457 feet of descent. Optional day hike to Old Snowy Mountain (6 miles round trip, 2,125 feet of gain and descent) or Cispus Basin (6.5 miles out and back, 1,15 feet of gain and descent).
- Sunday: Hike back to the trailhead 5 miles, 1,644 feet of descent.
- Thursday: Meet at Walupt Lake Campground, where the leader has reserved a site (optional).
- Friday: Meet at 9:30 a.m. at Berry Path Trailhead.
