Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Royal Basin

This field trip will give B3 students the opportunity to try out gear and new skills on a moderate overnight backpack with experienced mentors. Preference will be given to Group 6 members.

Meeting Place: Upper Dungeness TH

Time: Please arrive by 8:30 am at the TH and be ready for boots on the trail at 9 am.

This will be a moderate backpack starting at the Upper Dungeness TH and following the trail up the Royal Creek Camp. We will travel at a slow to moderate pace 3.5 miles and gain about 1800 feet. Once camp is set twe can explore further up to Royal Basin. 

We are still early in the season for this trek so be prepared for downed trees and some rough trail conditions. 

Please note we will be within Olympic National Park boundaries which means bear cans will be required for this trip.
